I’d be curious to read your analysis of MBFC (mediabiasfactcheck.com). They seem to go more in depth on the history & ownership of the outlets. They also label the blatant propaganda sites and conspiracy sites as questionable sources, such as RT.

I do agree that we need a journalism v. propaganda breakdown on these sites. I’m not aware of any that currently make it that black & white.

They'll never adopt a journalism v. propaganda frame. Like corporate media, the business model depends on a "bothsides" frame so that they can include sites that appeal to all potential clients. Many of these companies make money by selling services to business and organizations. Like I say in the piece I can't really recommend any of them, but certainly they can serve as a first stop as one researches the outlets they use/see. And in that sense, MBFC was definitely the best one I came across. It provided the most background information on outlets and had lots more information about ownership in my cursory review.

Totally agree. I teach my students to read the same story in different outlets and notice the slant and framing themselves. Knowing where the money comes from is also very important as well. This is a great article.

Bumper Sticker: The Media is as liberal as the Billionaires that own them.

I'd like someone to come up with a "Billionaire Bias" metric for all major media sources.
