The examples provided in this piece help drive home the issue of media ownership and the role it plays in shaping the 'news' we consume. While the degraded state of journalism has taken decades to develop, we probably don't have decades to correct the corrosive effects of corporate and oligarch control of information in our society.

Good work on this piece. I'm sure many can benefit from your efforts.

Thanks so much, Mickey. My colleagues at the Media and Democracy Project are an all-volunteer, non-partisan group working towards a better informed electorate. We made a searchable local journalism directory so folks can make healthier media choices. Every time we click on an article or a social media post, we communicate back to a matrix that is incentivized to give us more of the same. Our choices can have a big impact in altering the structure of our media system. We are also taking on disinformers like Fox News. Check out foxpetition.com and mediaanddemocracyproject.org. Thanks again.
